180 degree bunnyhop

{180 Bunnyhop}

This is another extension of the bunnyhop which can be hard to learn as it requires timing, balance and you really have to go for it! But bewarned if you have weak rims whilst learning this you will buckle them loads.

Step 1: You can learn from standstill or from fast walking pace but I will teach it from standstill. Make little hops on the spot or trackstand or whatever suits you best while balancing on the spot. Have your bike straight and not one wheel to a side and the other to the opposite. Start looking around which ever side feels best, do this while still keeping balance. Look round 180 degrees to visualize where you are going to land.

Step 2: When your balance Is at it's best you bunnyhop up as with the standard bunnyhop but as you are airborne EXPLOSIVELY twist both hips and body weight to the side you wish to turn To get a full 180 degree spin requires as much twist as you can get. You really have to yank the front end around with your arms and yank the rear end around with the bunnyhop motion.

Bullet Points

  • Start From a Standstill
  • Before the move and in the middle of it look around to the back of the bike to pick your landing spot out
  • EXPLOSIVELY twist around when bunnyhopping with arms, legs and body weight.
